Fit4Life - Web and Mobile SMS Intervention for Childhood Cancer Survivors
The Fit4Life study, funded by the American Cancer Society and the National Institutes of Health, evaluated a tailored weight management program for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) survivors. Children who have had ALL were selected as the target population owing to the growing prevalence of obesity and increased risk for obesity-related health morbidities and premature death among these young cancer survivors. Particular sensitivity to issues experienced by cancer survivors and their families was incorporated into this developed intervention based on systematic cancer survivor input and feedback as well as mentor/collaborator input regarding cancer survivor research.
